Grant of up to £400 towards a new boiler – Government Scrappage Scheme

The first 125,000 Homeowners and tenants in England can get  government help towards the cost of replacing old gas boilers. From 18th Jan 2010 you may qualify to claim £400 to help with the cost of replacing G rated boilers.

Criteria –

The applicant must be a homeowner or landlord that owns and rents out a property.

The boiler  to be replaced must have a G rating

The boiler must be the main source of heating in the property

The new boiler must be A rated or to conform to renewable heating conditions

If the applicant is under 60 then the boiler has to be in working condition

If the applicant is over 60 then the boiler doesn’t have to be working

The scheme works by issuing vouchers which are ‘cashed in’ once an approved replacement has been made and paid for. Vouchers issued from 18th Jan 2010.

To apply for a voucher:

Check the boiler is G rated or equivalent  please call 0800 512012 or click on www.governmentboiler-scrappagescheme.info/eligibilitycheck.php or alternatively call or email Heatsource and we can check for you.

Get a quote from a Gas Safe registered Installer

Send in details of old boiler, new model and the installation professional you are using

Those that qualify for a voucher will be sent one once these details have been verified. Work should NOT start until the voucher is issued as this may invalidate the application. A registered Installer must be used. Once an individual has a voucher they can then arrange for their boiler to be replaced. They will need to pay Installation costs themselves and then redeem the voucher with the government. They should be reimbursed within 25 days.

As this government scheme only applies to the first 125,000 applications, Heatsource Domestic are offering all customers with G rated boilers to match the governments offer of £400 off a new boiler upgraded to a more efficient boiler.

Heatsource Domestic want to slash household energy bills and carbon emissions !
